Boulder Than Lions

I somehow manage to always visit the small town whenever I step foot in Colorado. Boulder is filled with great places to eat, amazing breweries, and challenging hiking trails. I have hiked the Flat Irons a few times before and always enjoyed how the mountain's terrain would just open up like a football field, and then get tight and congested like a bamboo forest. For this project I had my good friend Jimmus assist me in the dark of the night. I wanted to capture the open fields that are surrounded by thick tree lines with only the light of the moon. Hiking mountain trails at night requires a bit of bravery and experience, I couldn't think of anyone more experienced then Jimmus to guide me in the right direction. Five hours deep with the harvest moon at full climax, I took long exposures that ranged from 1 to 3 minutes. Within the 5hrs of standing in 3 feet of snow were the sounds of what appeared to be lions slaughtering animals in the distance. It couldn't be but a hundred feet away and yet we still stayed until I got the perfect shot. Thank you Jimmus.
