St. Marys

St. Marys glacier is a perennial snowfield located at 11,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies. It offers year-round skiing and snowboarding and has cliffs to dive into the ice-cold fresh water. It was surreal to be hiking in snow wearing shorts and a t-shirt with the temperature at 60 degrees. I didn't get all the way to the very top but just below the peak I found a nice cave. Even on a cloudy day the water is very clear and very refreshing. Notice how the glacier creates a nice pool that sits high about sea level.
